UVTAB Accreditation of Assessment Centres

To facilitate the accreditation process, UVTAB has developed these guidelines for all TVET providers seeking accreditation as assessment centres.

A. Categories

Categories of TVET Providers

Accreditation as a UVTAB assessment centre applies to the following categories of TVET providers.

Skills Development Centre

SDC

Vocational Training Institute

VTI

Technical College

TC

B. Who Must Apply

Providers Required to Apply for Accreditation

In accordance with the TVET Act, 2025, the following entities are required to apply for UVTAB Assessment Centre Accreditation.

Private and Public TVET providers licensed by TVET Council.
Industry and world-of-work hubs seeking to conduct professional staff assessments.
Informal training providers seeking to conduct on-the-spot modular assessments.
C. Requirements

Requirements for Accreditation as an Assessment Centre

Applicants must submit the following.

A valid Licence and Registration Certificate issued by the TVET Council.

Proof that the TVET Provider possesses sufficient infrastructure such as assessment halls, functional workshops, laboratories, farms, salons, and other specialized practical training facilities relevant to the programmes accredited by TVET Council.

Proof that the TVET Provider has in place facilities that provide support to candidates with special needs education.

A minimum enrolment of thirty (30) candidates at the proposed assessment Centre, with at least five (5) candidates per programme/occupation.

An outline of only programmes accredited by TVET Council, with a breakdown of enrollment figures disaggregated by gender and nature of disability, if any.

A summary of the Institution Management Structure clearly stating the name, position and qualifications of all persons involved in the Management of the Institution.

Evidence of possession of a strong room for storage of assessment materials, accessible to only authorized personnel.

Files indicating lists of Trainers as per the TVET Council Accreditation, indicating:

  • Name
  • Gender
  • Age
  • Technical/vocational qualifications
  • Registration Number
  • Years of experience
  • The occupation/programme each Trainer instructs

Curriculum Vitae/professional resume for all Trainers at the Institution.

Employment Contracts for all Trainers at the Institution.

Names of at least three (3) people who shall act as focal persons for purposes of assessments.

Evidence that the Institution has in place measures to ensure good health, safety and a clean environment for the candidates and other personnel participating in the assessment.

Evidence of proper waste disposal measures.

Memorandum of Understanding with the world of work for continuous assessment, industrial training and real-life exposure, if any.

Proof of payment of application fees, as set and prescribed by the Board.
